The GDSG does not attempt to provide rationalization for the recommended 
guidelines, if rationalizations already exist in associated reference books. For 
the capitalization guidelines, there are extensive discussions in the Chicago 
Manual of Style, 14th Edition, chapter 7, sections 7.1 to 7.6.
