contributing to project

Hi!

My name is Dmitry Bitman, I'm professional php developer from Russia.

I've been searching for time tracking tool for quite a long time and
loved hamster when I discovered it. So I decided to contribute and
help improve it.

I have little python experience (developed some minor tools several
years ago) and almost no experience in developing linux gui apps. But
I was able to read and generally understand code from git repo, so I'm
not too bad :)

I was wondering about small tasks that I could do to start helping. I
found this feature request
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=597748 and thought it might
be useful and not overly complicated to do.

P.S. there may be something wrong with installation instructions on
site: there is no package python-gnomeapplet in my ubuntu (9.04), but
I was able to build and install hamster without it
