Thanks. Setting Search to Search All Subfolder in All Locations in the Nautilus preferences solved
the problem. I still wonder how many file search utilities outside of Nautilus are GIO savvy? I have tried
most of the highly recommended ones like Catfish, etc and none seem to work. The folder selection dialog
sees into the Google Drive files and directories but it is almost as if the search program itself can't.
