Hi I'm trying to compile 0.40.3 on solaris 8. I get symbol referencing
errors trying to link the demo program. Sluggish linking seems to make
no difference. This is the libtool command:
/bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -g -O2 -Wall -Wunused -o demo
demo.o ./libguppi.la -L/usr/local/lib -lgnomeui -lart_lgpl -lgdk_imlib
-lSM -lICE -lgtk -lgdk -lgmodule -ldl -lXext -lX11 -lgnome
-lgnomesupport -lesd -lresolv -lrt -lnsl -lsocket -laudiofile -lm
-ldb-3 -lglib -lzvt -lSM -lICE -lgdk_imlib -lgtk -lgdk -lgmodule
-lglib -ldl -lXext -lX11 -lsocket -lnsl -lm -L/usr/local/lib
-lglade-gnome -lglade -L/usr/local/lib -R/usr/local/lib
-R/usr/local/lib -lxml -lz -lsocket -lnsl -lsocket -lnsl
-L/usr/local/lib -lgnomeui -lart_lgpl -lgdk_imlib -lSM -lICE -lgtk
-lgdk -lgmodule -ldl -lXext -lX11 -lgnome -lgnomesupport -lesd
-lresolv -lrt -lnsl -lsocket -laudiofile -lm -ldb-3 -lglib
-L/usr/local/lib -R/usr/local/lib -lgnomeprint -lgnomeui -lgdk_imlib
-lSM -lICE -lgnome -lgnomesupport -lesd -lresolv -lrt -laudiofile
-ldb-3 -lgdk_pixbuf -lgtk -lgdk -lgmodule -lglib -ldl -lXext -lX11
-lart_lgpl -lm -lxml -lz -lsocket -lnsl -lfreetype
Does this include everything it should? The symbols are among others:
guppi_plot_toolkit_set_button_tool ./.libs/libguppi.so
guppi_view_interval_unconv_fn ./.libs/libguppi.so
guppi_plot_toolkit_get_button_tool ./.libs/libguppi.so
guppi_geometry_unconv ./.libs/libguppi.so
guppi_element_view_geometry ./.libs/libguppi.so
guppi_view_interval_set ./.libs/libguppi.so
guppi_group_view_layout_same_place demo.o
guppi_element_view_set_preferred_view demo.o
guppi_plot_toolkit_set_key_tool ./.libs/libguppi.so
guppi_element_state_set demo.o
guppi_group_view_layout_flush_top demo.o
guppi_root_group_view_get_type demo.o
guppi_group_view_layout_same_width demo.o
guppi_element_view_state ./.libs/libguppi.so
... and about 45 more, all guppi_something
Any ideas on what is happening?
BTW. sed is GNU, ld is solaris, although I did try GNU binutils
previously to no avail.
Thanks, mark
