So I guess that guppi will be the standard plotting package for whatever
the final winner is. Not bad, eh?

(someone yell at me if I'm wrong: soffice data plotting is non-existant, 
and the diagramming module makes dia look good.)

btw, there is 'no point' in having any sort of dia/guppi interop? 
These two projects really will march to different drummers?  right?
