I tried out your 3d demo --- very slick. I definitely want Guppi to
support 3d plots. However, all of Guppi's plotting is canvas-based:
so any 3d plotter would have to be ported to a canvas item.
IMHO, the right way to do this would be to use OpenGL. I know about
the OpenGL area widget for gtk, but is it possible to render OpenGL
into a canvas item? I know that you can always just drop a GtkGLArea
widget onto the canvas, but I suspect you'd lose alpha transparency.
Does anyone know about this sort of thing. (I'm totally clueless when
it comes to 3d and OpenGL.)
