use of GSL in guppi

Amigos, I don't know if anyone on this list has been following GSL
(GNU Scientific Library).

The latest snapshot (gsl-0.4.tar.gz) can be found at
ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/

I would like to suggest that it be considered as the mathematical
infrastructure for guppi: gsl's goal is that all numerical analysis
stuff used by free software could be part of GSL, so that it can be
maintained in one place and anyone can use it by linking to GSL.

GSL so far has a (cool) random number suite, a port of FFTPACK,
special functions, simulated annealing, basic statistics, integration,
the beginnings of a port of BLAS, root finding, and some other stuff.

What do you all think?
