AFAIU, it's not as easy to do with Drupal. Each conference is archived and always available as I understand it. Basically it's a conference management system, not a generic CMS with some random pages in. The only flaw with Expectnation is that it is closed source, although the author has said that is open to giving a free license to GUADEC (the main author is Edd Dumbill, a previous GNOME hacker).
