Maybe the problem with your is related with the current code in trunk,
my svn compilation was a little before the las release and my ppa
currently has the 1.9.4 version. But I'm jus guessing here...

I will announce my ppa in gnome-i18n list, I'm actually subscribed to
the list as well. I'm a translator as well of course :).
