I tested your code, which I suppose you have modified from gtkmm-documentation/examples/book/statusicon/main.cc. I used another icon file of type svg. Result: No critical message. If you want someone else to troubleshoot for you, you must attach your icon file to an email, or show a link to it, if it's available on the net.
