Beautiful! Thank you so much for clearing that up. I think I assumed
that the various Scales did not have X windows because Gtk::Range was
listed as one of the infamous Widgets Without X-Windows and my events
weren't firing. It makes sense to me now that the trough and the slider
likely have their own X windows which are the end of the event chain.
