changing select color of a treeview

hi,
i have a treeview with few cellrendererspin columns.  when a row is selected the background color changed to blue and spin controls are not shown.  is there a way to change the selection color or even drop it completely?  i know that gtk tries to be consistent with the look-n-feel of the window manager but in my case it does not work.
any advice will be appreciated.
