gtkmm make errors

Hi everyone,
I downloaded gtkmm8.8.* and tried to compile it. Its done succesfully but somehow, it creates a folder called gtkmm-2.4 and whenever I try compile or build from Eclipse, I keep getting error ("cannot find Button.h or Gdk.*.h etc"). Does anyone have a solution? Please help me out. I'm stuck.
