scrolled window with drawingarea

Hi, 

I just started using gtkmm to programm myself some interface. I need to draw
some data as representative in an window, for that I chose the drawingarea.
So far the drawing of some samples works fine.
 
But when I resize my window or scroll the drawingarea, than the drawing data
is lost. Can someone please give me some hint how I could manage to safe my
data that it is not lost while scrolling or resizing. Is there a more
conveniant method?
