Maybe it's the same problem I submitted to GTK Bugzilla:

Which I encontered on Fedora Core 5.

It got closed with an info that "this happens in the X libraries, and
is not a problem". It does however make debugging with valgrind much
harder - this error shows with every opened window, combo box etc.
