C++ equivalents to gdk_threads_enter() and related?

Hi,

I noticed that the gdk_threads_enter() and gdk_threads_leave() as well 
as gdk_threads_init() are not present in the Gdk namespace.

Can I find them elsewhere or am I just supposed to use the functions 
from the C API?
