Problem with glib-2.0

Hello,

I am new to gtkmm. I am trying to get the example code base.cc to compile, but I
am encountering the following error messages:

/usr/local/include/glib-2.0/glib/gmessages.h:109: error: expected
init-declarator before "G_GNUC_INTERNAL"
/usr/local/include/glib-2.0/glib/gmessages.h:109: error: expected `,' or `;'
before "G_GNUC_INTERNAL"

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
