Hmm, I followed your instruction and upgraded MinGW to the latest version,
it did indeed fix the compile error. The project now builds and runs fine.

Does the installer take care of this then? 

I can reasonably be asked to shut up about this now, it does work, I'm just
interested in case there could be problems down the line :)
