Thank you so much Tim and Cedric (and Murray)!

I didn't even get to the point where I could use aclocal/autoconf on cygwin! 
Hopefully it will be easier, once K-3D works on MSVC, to make plugins for 
Tim Shead's excellent application than this long and tedious story proved to 
be. That was my only objective anyway.
