In practice I think that means
SUN's Forte CC.
gcc 2.95 (We can probably forget about this for gtkmm 2.4)
gcc 3.*
Whatever version of gcc is in cygwin
Libsigc++ 1.2 now builds (without all features) in MSVC++ 6.
I expect that it should be even better with MSVC++ 7 and the
not-yet-released MSVC++ 2003.
If at all possible, I would like gtkmm to build with the latest MSVC++.
Libsigc++ 1.2 also builds with the Intel compiler - there's a README in
libsigc++ 1.2
