Yes, create-methods exists for the Pixmap and Bitmap but I can't find create-methods for Pango::Layout. In the Pango doc you can find the following function:

PangoLayout* pango_layout_new (PangoContext *context);

I can't find anything like this in the Gtkmm docs...
