FileChooser - hiding shortcut/places area

Now that I have buttons wrapping nicely I have a new problem.
I want to display a Gtk2::FileChooser widget in an area that may not
be very wide.
As such I want to hide the shortcuts/places area that is normally
shown on the left
I can't find any property to set in order to hide this item.
Does anyone know how I can get rid of it?
