The version of gtk in stable debian (woody) is 2.0.2-5woody1. I assume it includes many bugfixes backported from later releases. Please, upgrade to at least that version.
what versions of the Glib and Gtk2 perl modules are you using?latest from cpan.... perl -MGtk2 -e 'print "$Gtk2::VERSION\n"' 1.042 for both....what (if any) error messages do you see?none... that's the problem... :(and, even better, can you get a backtrace from gdb?#0 0x405d83e0 in _gdk_xsettings_client_get_setting () from /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 #1 0x405c6ca6 in gdk_setting_get () from /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 ...
Hm... no debugging info... There are libglib2.0-dbg, libgtk2.0-dbg, libatk1.0-dbg and libpango1.0-dbg packages. Could you install them and try gdb with appropriately set LD_LIBRARY_PATH (see readme.Debian from libgtk2.0-dbg)? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jan 'Bulb' Hudec <bulb ucw cz>
