I'd agree with Ross here, I don't think it's a good idea to be
maintaining too many ways to access the same info. ...

That said, Aristotle's proposal looks good to me. My only concern is that
it prevents us from adding any more features to the tied interface, since
there are only two available fields: values (at index 0) and children (all
the other indices). I can't see this being a real problem, though.
