Ross did a sweep of the code to make it compile cleanly with -W, and in
doing so he found and fixed quite a few bugs; i made a few more tweaks
to ensure that it builds on windows. I suspect there are plenty more
in there --- try these out, and give us all the bug reports you can!
-Wall, -W still spits out warnings about unused parameter 'cv' for just
about everything. that hasn't been fixed and i have no plans to at this
point, it was about all i could do to quite xsubpp's violations of -Wall
to find ours (which were all bugs of various degrees, which is why
warnings are bad mm-kay.)
