nothing, unless you consider "i didn't know how to do it" to be
special. :-)
specifically, i didn't know how to get a perl file handle back from a
file descriptor in the io watch callback (from gperl_io_channel_wrap()
in GIOChannel.xs). if you change Glib::IO::add_watch to accept file
handles, then that boxed wrapper function should change to spit file
handles back to perl.
