Cool.  I'll write that on my arm ;-)

I wasn't clear.  If I just remove the files manually, the metadata (if
there is any) won't be updated.

I did think of that.  I know I've tried that on some packages, some time
ago, with no luck.  Maybe only newer Makefiles have it?

I've already canned the previous Makefiles for Gtk2-perl ;-(
