we've been working furiously for the past several days on Glib and Gtk2
in cvs... here's a heads-up:
- documentation autogeneration experimentation
building from the xsub scanner i posted last week, ross and i have
crafted an elaborate scheme involving parser and podifier modules
(Glib::ParseXSDoc and Glib::GenPod), some nifty makefile rules, and
special POD directives in the xs source... all of which results in
readable, usable, automagically generated api reference documentation.
- makefile automation
the Makefile.PLs for the gtk2-perl modules are ridiculous, and the
documentation stuff only made it worse. to cut down on the copy and
paste tedium, we created Glib::MakeHelper, which generates some of the
more tedious portions of your Makefile.PL for you.
- CellRenderer subclassing
i've merged the Gtk2::CellRenderer subclassing code from a couple of
weeks ago into Gtk2, with torsten's examples.
planning on the next set of releases, Glib and Gtk2 1.02, "real soon
now". stay tuned.
