Quoting muppet <scott asofyet org>:
how useful do you think it would be to have a CellRenderer that draws
perl scalars?
Does changing the scalar change the text in the cell? If so, then I think
it falls into "can't live without it". If not, then I think it falls into
"fancy, but unnecessary".
if i'm not totally off my rocker, this would require some form of 'set' magic
on the scalar to be monitored. that might not be quite so practical, if you
want to be able to use any arbitrary scalar, unless you could Tie or otherwise
install the proper set magick on the scalar when you attach the model to it
---- you'd have to have the model do that monitoring, because the renderer
gets used for every row in a column, or possibly lots of columns.
hmm. sounding less useful.
