Help me in multiple selection

Hi
Trying to do multiple selections in Gtk2 using
Gtk2::Liststore and TreeIter
While I am trying to select multiple items by holding
ctrl-key I am getting the following message
Gtk-Critical **: file gtktreeselection: line
360(gtk-tree-selection-get-selected) assertion
'selection ->type' = GTK-SELECTION-MULTIPLE' failed

How can i correct this problem. 
kindly help me in selecting multiple items and get the
vaules of multiple selected items
