Hi there ...

The Gtk libs seemed to choke from time
to time with some code construct. 

I think I used something like this:

($xpm,$mask) = Gtk::Gdk::Pixmap(new Gtk::Gdk::Window(undef), $style, $filename);

This error should not be related in any way to the perl binding:
it's either a problem in Gtk+ or in your program (most likely the 
latter:-).
If you can provide a small program that shows the error we can find out
quickly what it is.
