I changed some things in cvs so that the build system is
cleaner and it's possible to compile all the modules
with a simple
perl Makefile.PL && make
in the top-level dir (an often-requested feature). I guess
I will get complaints now because too many modules are
compiled, but, oh well... :-)

Anyway, the new system should be more stable also for
compiling modules outside of the main build tree.
