Many thanks John, you're quite right. That makes a lot of sense and it's
working now.
A follow-up question to the list: Is there a convenient way to "jhbuild
run" a binary from within XCode?
After some fiddling the best I've been able to do is create a new Build
target that runs a shell script. For various reasons this is unpleasant,
and it would be nice if I could continue to use XCode's debugger. If not
I'm sure I'll figure out some sort of workflow.
