[Gtk-osx-users] Newbie question

Stumbled on gtk-osx yesterday, led here by someone else. I think I'm
excited by what I'm saying. I'm interested in the jhbuild in
particular, as a way of building a pango/cairo stack.

So here's what I've learned so far. Followed the instructions at the http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/gtk-osx/wiki/Build
  page. Did the following:

1) downloaded the setup script
2) sh gtk-osx-build-setup.sh (waited a little while)
3) ~/.local/bin/jhbuild bootstrap (waited quite a while)
4) ~/.local/bin/jhbuild build meta-gtk-osx-bootstrap (waited some)
5) ~/.local/bin/jhbuild build meta-gtk-osx-core (waited a long time
and then...

Got an error that looked like:

*** Configuring ige-mac-integration *** [10/11]
./configure --prefix /Users/travis/gtk/inst --libdir '/Users/travis/
gtk/inst/lib' --disable-python --disable-static
configure: error: cannot find install-sh, install.sh, or shtool in "."
"./.." "./../.."
*** Error during phase configure of ige-mac-integration: ##########
Error running ./configure --prefix /Users/travis/gtk/inst --libdir '/
Users/travis/gtk/inst/lib' --disable-python --disable-static

I'm running on OSX 10.5. I tried #2 (ignore and continue), and then
when that didn't work, did #3. I'm clueless where to go from there.

I'd be interested if someone can point me in the right direction to
figure out how to build just cairo and pango (and the pieces they need
of course).

TIA
