I should have mentioned that ige-mac-integration uses Carbon and very  
likely won't work -- but it's not required for anything, so when it  
bombs, just tell it to ignore the problem and keep going. Gimp also  
has ige-mac-integration's menu code copied into its own source tree,  
so if you want to build Gimp, you may have to figure out how to get  
configure to leave out the menu integration stuff.
