Regarding distribution from "your resources", it may not be clear what it means in case you are using a site like sourceforge to make your download available. What if your distribution site disappears within three years of someone acquiring your program? Your email might also disappear. Or your postal address. Or, what if you die (what a morbid thought!), is it the responsibilty of your heirs to fullfill that obligation?

That's one advantage of releasing the source code instead of binary versions of your software. Then these obligations become someone elses problem...
