URGENT Info request: Language menu

Hi all,

I'm not a technician and so be patient about my terminology.
I'm running an application based on GTK interface but I've got the problem that all the standard menu bar of GTK remain in english. I need to traslate them into Italian.
The windows %LANG% is set to "it".
Do I need a program like gtksetup.exe ?
I didn't find it for windows.
Is it the same for Linux ?
Is there a config... to set ?
Any suggestion would be very appreciated
