trouble getting the current size of GtkViewport

I am displaying an image inside a GtkViewport (which is in a scrolled
window), my main window resizes frequently (and so the viewport), and i want
the image to rescale to fit the current size of the viewport. 

Anybody has any idea how to get the current size of the viewport? Thanks a
lot!!!!
