Hello.
I've looked for sollution for a very long time. Also I'm not nebie and
I've configured gtk+ fonts/themes before. So now I dare to ask developers
for suggestions. Here is my problem:
Recently I upgraded my X server to 6.8.2 and freetype-2.1.9. Now all
gtk+1.2.10 applications does not show fonts properly. When I start for
example xmms I have this in console:
Gdk-WARNING **: Missing charsets in FontSet creation
Gdk-WARNING **: JISX0208.1983-0
Gdk-WARNING **: KSC5601.1987-0
Gdk-WARNING **: GB2312.1980-0
Gdk-WARNING **: JISX0201.1976-0
And I can see some abracadabra instead of russian letters. Seems like gtk
does not understand utf-8 properly. I've recompiled the whole system with
new libraries, with no success.
My locale is:
LANG=ru_RU.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES=ru_RU.UTF-8
Now what I have in configs. This is my gtkrc.ru_RU.UTF-8:
style "gtk-default-ru" {
fontset = "-microsoft-comic sans ms-medium-r-normal-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-1"
}
class "GtkWidget" style "gtk-default-ru"
I'm sure I have this font in fontpath. Actually I've cut and past it from
the output of xlsfonts. I do not have any ~/.gtkrc. I'm sure that gtk+
uses this file because comic font can be recognisable in xmms's
interface. I've tried different combinations.
So what is the problem with gtk+1.2.10?
Thank you for your attention,
Peter.
