Re: can't compile gtk+-2.4.0

After more wailing and gnashing of teeth, I got fontconfig2 and xft2 
installed as you said.  I then ran ldconfig, re-extracted the gtk package, 
and re-ran configure.  But it still gives almost the exact same errors 
during make:
