GDK event types and g_signal_connect()

Hi all,

I want to ask something. If I want to use event
handling for the handling in GTK, what should I use?
g_signal_connect()? I heard that I can use gdk event
types for that. what's the difference between
g_signal_connect() and GDK event types?
