.bash_profile and .bashrc

Hi beloved list !

Does anybody know WHY all my gtk application stopped executing my
startup files ? 

All applications, from the gnome-terminal to evolution ... they simply
don't execute my startup files anymore. Since one of my automatic
updates updated all gtk and gdm. 

Is it gdm's fault ? Or gtk? 
Is anyone else suffering of the same illness ? :)
