OK, so how do I find out the file name in which does "Sans 7" reside?
And what is the new method of listing all avialable font names in X? (like 
xlsfonts is, but you say it's deprecated).

And why /usr/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/fonts.dir lists fonts in the old 
format, and does not know anything about the new format? I have the 
latest Debian system (upgraded today to Debian/unstable).
