If you're really using version 2.0.2 then I suggest you upgrade to
2.2.1 as I first step. Beyond that you need to make sure you have
all the dependancies compiled up before trying to compile Gtk+
itself. You can find more information in the installation guide:

If you're read this and still can't get it to work then send a
message to gtk-list saying exactly what you did and exactly what
the error message was. If the problem is in the configure step
then you also need to look at config.log, see why its failing
and send the relevant lines with your message.
