Installation problem of gtk2.0.5

Hello everybody,
i tried to installed gtk2.0.5 on a Suse Linux 8.0 System,
but i get the following error:
configure: error: pangox Pango backend is required for x11 target
What could this be?
I compiled and installed without problems:
pkgconfig-0.12
glib-2.0.4
atk-1.0.2
pango-1.0.3
I use KDE 3 and XFree4.2.0.
