gtk1.2.10 faiurel when compiling

Hi,

I'm trying to install gtk1.2.10.
I got glib1.2.10 installed properly, gtk1.2.10
configured ok but it fails to compile with the
following warning:
       .libs/libgtk.so: undefined reference to `_Xsetlocale'
       collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
       make[2]: *** [testgtk] Error 1
       make[2]: Leaving directory `/data1/Installed/GTK/gtk+-1.2.10/gtk'
       make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
       make[1]: Leaving directory `/data1/Installed/GTK/gtk+-1.2.10'
       make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

Could any one tell me how I could solve my problem.
