You might look at Guppi (www.gnome.org/projects/guppi is my memory,
try google if not). It's probably a pretty big hunk of code if you
just want a simple widget though.

There's no official package of plot widgets, no. I'd expect there are
various things on the net though - the Guppi home page used to have a
list.
