knowledge supported in X11R6.4 and XFree86 4.0 and make it possible to use
hardware to do the conversion from yuv->rgb.

You'll need to do colorspace conversion from yuv to RGB on the client side
before pushing bit with XPutImage (or whatever is used by GdkImage to wrap
that function).
