  I just did 

./configure --without-thread
make clean
make

  and all went fine. That may have to do with the fact that pthread is present 
(I think it is). 

  I am not sure I got your question right (I am not very competent in either the
kernel or glib). If you tell me exactly how to run "configure" and make, I'd be 
glad to do so and send you the output.
