Set a breakpoint in g_logv or run the program with --g-fatal-warnings and
get a backtrace in gdb to see where this error is. If that doesn't answer
the question for you post it to the list...

(I have no idea how gtk_list_remove_items() works though, this is just a
generic way to investigate...)
